Pilsen - Plzeň

The town that gave the name to the Pilsner brand of beer. Here the American Army finished its journey in May 1945 (General George Patton). In May there are still great celebrations with participation of American veterans and a lot of original old military vehicles, weapons, uniforms etc.

From the time it was founded in 1295, Pilsen has experienced many celebrated chapters in its history that have profoundly impacted on the city´s development and left their marks on Pilsen.

Set out to find them with us and discover the beauty and attractions of present-day Pilsen. The city is the proud bearer of two titles. Thanks to the famous Pilsner Urquell brewery, it is known around the world as the Czech beer capital; in addition, Pilsen holds the title of European Capital of Culture 2015.

The combination of these two seemingly disparate concepts is uniquely adding to the city´s atmosphere, providing visitors with a wealth of opportunities for diverse, yet entirely pleasant experiences. Come find out for yourself that Pilsen´s beer-and culture-are crisp and refreshing!
